Architect As Developer Course FAQs

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ENROLL IN THE ARCHITECT AS DEVELOPER COURSE?
The course fee is $695 and includes 8 AIA Learning Units upon successful complete of the quizzes.
WHAT DOES THE INITIAL SIGN UP FEE PROVIDE?
Subscribers will have access to the basis of the Architect as Developer philosophy. This includes 9 videos totaling approximately 4 hours of educational video and a downloadable 177 page PDF, which includes basic legal documents, spreadsheets, proformas, and other pertinent information for review. In addition, following this course will also allow you to receive 8 hours of AIA Learning Units applicable towards continuing education upon successful completion of the quizzes.
WHY IS THE COURSE $695.00?
Due to a large overhead in creating the content, personal license, and maintaining the website we feel this fee is extremely fair when compared to other online courses also offering the 8 AIA Learning Units.
WHAT IS REQUIRED TO PASS THE COURSE?
The course consists of 9 video topics with a 10-question quiz for each. All quizzes must be completed with a score of 70% correct or higher.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
Continuing education credits will be sent into the AIA by our staff within 10 days of successful completion of all of the required quizzes. Subscribers will be allowed one person of credit for each paid account.
VIDEOS
All videos will be on available only through Teachable.com via streaming. Videos will not be downloadable but will be accessible via Teachable.com.
HOW DO I JOIN “JONNY’S WORLD”?
For just $10 per month, you can become a "Jonny's World" monthly subscriber to access 70+ past and current videos. In these quick videos lessons, Segal will answer questions from the forum, discuss current development projects or issues he is currently tackling or pursuing, and provide additional tips for architects on how to act as developers. It is our intention to make these videos quick lessons in our own process to illustrate issues you may come across. These could range from dealing with change orders, to discussing loan options with bankers.You may self-report the time you spend watching these videos in Jonny's World to the AIA. You can enroll for monthly membership here.
CANCELING “JONNY’S WORLD” MEMBERSHIP
If you join the monthly subscription to “Jonny’s World” videos and wish to unsubscribe, you may do so through your teachable.com account.
DOES YOUR COURSE STREAM TO MOBILE DEVICES?
The course is offered through Teachable.com. Teachable offers a free iOS App where you can access the online course on the go.
CAN I SHARE MY ACCOUNT WITH OTHER PEOPLE?
Although we cannot entirely control the sharing of your Teachable.com account, only one person will be allowed to submit for AIA credits per account. In addition, we have measures in place to deactivate or temporarily freeze an account should it be signed on multiple computers at a time. If this does occur we have the right to cancel membership on a case-by-case basis. Please respect this policy in order to avoid account suspension.
CAN I USE YOUR CONTENT ON MY OWN SITE?
You many not reprint or republish any of our content without our written permission, except where otherwise specified. We would however, love for you to share or link back to our content.
HOW CAN I RESET MY ARCHITECT AS DEVELOPER COURSE PASSWORD?
You can retrieve your password or make a new one at teachable.com.
I CAN’T LOGIN TO MY ACCOUNT, CAN YOU HELP?
Sometimes you simply need to reset your password. If you still cannot login, please email us at info@architectasdeveloper.com. We will try and respond to you as quickly as possible.
CAN I CHANGE MY TEACHABLE.COM LOGIN EMAIL?
Yes. Simply login to your account and click your profile (your picture in the upper right hand corner) then select “edit profile” from the drop down. From there you can change your email address and password.
MY PAYMENT WON’T GO THROUGH ON TEACHABLE?
Here are a few things you can try if your credit card is failing:

Contact your bank:
Sometimes credit card providers put a hold on purchases when it seems like a fraudulent charge. If you do not make online purchases often (or perhaps you don’t live in the U.S.), this could be the case. Contact your bank or credit card provider directly.
I AM NOT FROM THE U.S. CAN I MAKE PAYMENTS IN ANOTHER CURRENCY?
All payments must be made in U.S. dollars. Many of international students use the PayPal option when checking out. You can learn more about supported payment methods and currencies here.
IF I HAVE TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES OR ISSUES WITH THE WEBSITE WHO DO I CONTACT?
Please address any concerns or issues to info@architectasdeveloper.com. We have done our best to mitigate any issues we perceive occurring, but due to variations in computers, software and other various issues we cannot address every potential issue. We will try and respond to you as quickly as possible.
WILL THERE BE ANY MORE LIVE LECTURES?
At this time we do not have any live lectures scheduled.
I HAVE ATTENDED A LIVE LECTURE DO I GET A DISCOUNT?
We do have not have discounts at this time for previously attending people wanting to sign up for our online seminar series.
WERE ANY ANIMALS HARMED DURING THE MAKING OF THIS SEMINAR?
No animals were harmed nor do we support animal cruelty or animal testing.
COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS
The course website is fully responsive, so students can view content from computers, tablets, and smartphones.
DO I NEED AN AIA NUMBER TO SIGN UP?
No you do not need an AIA number to sign up. If you intend to self report and are not a part of the AIA but practice in another country please, fill in all zeros in the AIA number and we will provide you with a certificate.
HOW IS THIS SEMINAR DIFFERENT THAN THE ONLINE SEMINARS IN WASHINGTON DC AND LOS ANGELES?
Although the basis (what we refer to as the "undergraduate education") for the seminar is the same, we have updated the information to reflect current day. In addition, all of these videos will be able to be viewed at your leisure to adequately absorb all of the information. Many participants expressed their frustration during the live seminars that too much information was being presented to be absorbed. Similarly weekly videos tackling issues or solutions we are presented with will be added to the website weekly and our Jonny's Forum will also present new information that is updated weekly.
ARE THERE ANY HEARING IMPAIRED SUBTITLES?
At this time we do not offer any hearing impaired subtitles for the video.
